With an obvious reference to the visual media, be it television, magazine, internet, advertisements, Neil intersperses seemingly unrelated images

to bring out not only the complexity of image interpretation but also to summon a quirky feeling. This feeling of quirkiness is brought out through

repetitive image making, a violent thrush of fleshy colour, and very skilful linear drawings. He creates a dynamic conflict between what should be

imbibed within his work. The content is often a re imaging of our lives within an unreal pro media addicted world but his finesse lies in his astute

way of delivering the work with intent to prod our consciousness.

Neil Butler was born in Wexford (1976) and currently lives and works in London. He studied at the Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork

World Symphony : Journey's End', No 72 John Street, Kilkenny, 2008. Group shows include 'Polemically Small' at The Garboushian, LA. Curated
